Recital Information
|
Throughout the year, the classes will work toward the common goal of performing
in a Recital. We feel the recital will showcase the accomplishments of each
student. It is non-mandatory, but offers a way for all of us to be proud of our
hard work.
For more than eighteen years, Encore
School of Dance has provided students with an exciting performance experience
through its June recital. The recital—that annual staple of the dance
school—conjures images of childhood and Americana for many. It’s a rite of
passage for thousands of youngsters, a chance to shine in front of family and
friends that they anticipate with nervous excitement.
The recital offers our students a professionally directed
performance that allows them to present to their families and friends the
results of a year’s hard work, dedication, and progress.
A big part of dance training is learning through performance.
Although performance opportunities can help prepare some students for a possible
career in dance, they also contribute to children’s success in non-dance
activities. The performing experience helps build self-esteem and
self-confidence and can result in better in-school presentations, improved
social skills, and strong interview skills for future college or job
opportunities.
The rehearsal process is a tremendous learning experience as
well. It helps the children develop retention skills, and by working with their
classmates on a group performance, they learn the positive aspects of working as
a team to create the best end result.
Dedication
to recital commitments is the responsibility of both students and their parents.
The 2012 Recital will be held on
June
15, 2011 and June 16, 2012
Recitals 1:00, 4:00 & 7:00
will be at the Will Rogers Auditorium.
Costume Information
The payment of the recital
costumes will be due by December 3, 2011. Costumes will
be ordered in December and take several months to be
made. Costumes will cost between $62.00 - $81.00 each.
Once costumes are ordered, fees cannot be refunded.
PLEASE NOTE:
In order to give everyone
an enjoyable recital experience, by keeping the
length of our show down, we hold
three separate
recitals. Dancers with more than one class or
families with more than one child will more than
likely dance in all three recitals.
Recital Fee:
The recital fee makes the spring recital
possible for your dancer. It is applied
towards recital expenses and eliminates the need
of having to charge admission for those who
attend the show, including family and friends.
The recital fee pays for the rental of the
auditorium, sound and lighting technicians,
stage directors, awards, stage props, insurance,
backdrops, programs, security, backstage
assistants, etc.
A $70.00 Recital Fee is due by
February 4th, 2012. |
